Dr. Jason S. Chawla, DMD
Dr. Jason Chawla is a Louisiana native raised on the Northshore. He is a graduate of Northshore High School and attended Tulane University in New Orleans where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Chawla also attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge for graduate coursework in finance and biochemistry. Following LSU, Dr. Chawla attended Lake Erie College of Medicine - School of Dental Medicine in Sarasota, FL, where he completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
After graduation, Dr. Chawla wanted to return to Louisiana to make an impact in his local community. In a time where corporate dentistry is replacing the traditional dentist-owned and operated practices, he believes in bringing back the relationship-driven care that Louisiana patients want, and deserve. He takes his time with every patient and works with them to find the best solutions for their individual dental needs.
When Dr. Chawla isn't practicing dentistry he enjoys spending time with his wife, Alison, their baby, Jack, and two rescue-dogs, Cooper and Layla. Most weekends you'll find him either outdoors fishing, traveling, or at a Saints/LSU football game. Who dat?!
Dr. Atticus Deacon, DMD
Dr. Deacon was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in biomedical sciences. After graduating from University of South Alabama, he attended Lake Erie College of Medicine- School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, FL.; where he completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. After practicing for a number of years in a busy practice in Pensacola, FL, he decided to move to Louisiana and join the practice with fellow classmate Dr. Chawla. When not at the dental office, Dr. Deacon enjoys Brazillian Jiu jitsu, comedy, and trivia!
Dr. Serena Jones, DDS
Dr. Serena Jones hails from a small town in Florida’s panhandle, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Her dental career began in 2000 as a registered dental hygienist. In 2015, driven by a desire to further her career, she relocated to New Orleans, where she quickly fell in love with the city's vibrant culture, rich history, and renowned cuisine. While living in New Orleans, Dr. Jones earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Since then, she has built a strong reputation for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
In 2023, Dr. Jones moved to Covington and began practicing at a busy dental office in Hammond. Now closer to home, Dr. Jones is excited to serve her local community and continue providing high-quality, transformative care. “I have witnessed the healing power of dentistry, and it goes far beyond repairing teeth,” she says. “I have seen people regain their confidence and improve their entire lives because of quality dental care. It is a wonderful feeling to see joy return to someone’s smile, and I am honored to be a part of that journey.”
In her spare time, Dr. Jones enjoys being outdoors and is often seen with her beloved fur babies at local farmers markets, festivals, and picturesque parks. She also loves gardening, crafting, antiquing, and decorating. “Put me around good people, good food, and good music—I'm happy.”
Dr. Joseph Nasworthy, DMD
Dr. Joseph Nasworthy is originally from Swainsboro, Georgia, and brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to dental care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University and went on to conduct research at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Nasworthy completed his dental training at the Dental College of Georgia, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
Before moving to the New Orleans area, Dr. Nasworthy practiced general dentistry in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is committed to continuing education and is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the New Orleans Dental Association.
Outside the office, Dr. Nasworthy enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. New to the New Orleans metro, he’s enjoying exploring the unique culture, cuisine, and warm community. Dr. Nasworthy is excited to be a part of the Pontchartrain Dental team and looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients.nts.
